Deductible Limits for Small Group Health Plans Repealed

President Obama recently signed into law the “Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014.”  An important part of the bill modifies a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) directed at small employers.  Section 213 of the bill eliminates deductible limits imposed on small group employer sponsored health plans.  PPACA had set deductible amounts offered by small employer plans to $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for families.
